Take your flight on Tuesday / Saturday
This is an oldie but goodie. And most importantly it works! Airlines have the ability track your online habits in order to determine a price for their flights. Lucky for you if you are reading this article you are not like the normal traveler lol. Tuesdays, and Saturdays are the slowest times in the airport since most leisure travelers are flown out to their destination. You always want to explore your options before you fly to avoid paying unnecessary fees.
One of the best ways to do that is by searching through a booking platform that host multiple airlines so you can compare prices. Here are a few of my Favorites:
Airfarewatchdog
This website is one of my favorites! Not only does Airfarewatchdog track flight deals from multiple websites, their experts assess and accumulate the best airfare deals for all airlines. Even ones that exclusively post on their company’s website. it allows you to get notifications as soon as the price of a ticket drops, or if there is an accidental fare posted on major airline websites! This comes in handy if you are an on-the-go traveler or someone who like to do books trips at the last minute. They have you covered. Notifications can be sent to your email or by text message when a deal deal arrives so you are always ahead of the competition. Sign up to their mailing list to Check to see what deals are offered now!
Skyscanner
Gives you an unbiased list of comprehensive and cheap flights, hotel and car rentals all in one platform. You can find international flights for as low as $200. You can even put an alert notification on your phone on your favorite destinations and the app will let you know when it is the best time to purchase your flight! You categorize the flights along with hotels to get a lower rate on a package as well. For your convenience can download the app on your phone so you are able to track flights 24/7

Vayama Travel
I was blown away when I found this one Vayama is new and easy way to search and book international flights. Their map layout is very interactive for people who are not as tech savvy . It provides a greater way to access a wide selection of airlines, routes and fares, many never previously available online. Vayama provides more flight choices to select from, so you can find the lowest prices and best schedules. Most international flights on this website you can find for under $500 dollars!
Don’t be afraid to get bumped for your flight
GETTING BUMPED = FREE MONEY!
We all love our vacations right? We take our trips whenever our heart and pockets allows us to take them, and sure as heck don’t want to miss not even a single minute of it. What if I told you if you can put your pride to the side for a few hours to a day, you can be compensated for doing that? Airlines are willing to pay up to thousands of dollars just for you being nice. Seems to good to be true? Just ask companies like Air france, Hawaiian Airlines and Delta.
Tip=> when you take a transatlantic flight on the weekend it is almost a guarantee that they will ask somebody to get bumped, if you just so happened to have an extra day on your vacation why not spend it relaxing and getting paid before your flight? Extra money before vacation= more fun things to do! You have nothing to lose!
Travel Light
The most important rule when it comes to traveling is knowing what to pack when you travel and your luggage is the key to it all!
Bulky items are annoying to drag around, and some carry-on bags can not your most precious possessions so what do you do from here? Travel smart not hard! Compact, lightweight items are always the best choice. Some of the items I recommend are travel backpacks and fold-able carry-ons. They are made for any type of weather, easy to carry around, and most of all concealed. Items like
Take a Bus Tour
I always encourage travelers to do this if they are going to a city they have never been to before. Bus Tours are great for a few reasons.
Always ask the Tour Guide for local spots! It is their duty as a tour guide to recommend you places you might have missed along the tour and off the tour. Think of them as your personal insider! They can even recommend you a local that can show you around the city, guide you to the best restaurants and fun things to do that the tourists do not experience
You get to Experience The City In Less Than 2 Days! Excluding out all the travel expenses from going back and forth to different attractions and focusing on what you actually want to see in the city.
Avoid Restaurants that say “WE SPEAK ENGLISH”
This is the oldest trick in the book and surprisingly it still works. Lol Then again, it kind of explains why are you still reading this article. Since it shows how many people don't know the rules unfortunately but have no fear Passport Plug is here to help!
Here is the first sign of a tourist trap. If you are eating at a place where the entire menu is entirely in English in a country where the official language is anything other than that, you will get food that is not good quality. Most restaurant workers know enough English to get by so it will not be a major issue when you travel.
Try to find a local that can negotiate prices for you. This was very crucial for me will helped in all of my situations when traveling to a foreign country.
Free Events/ Festivals
This is always good during the low season of any destination. Where the crowds are not as overwhelming and you really get to immerse yourself into a country’s cultures and customs; most of all it does not cost anything! That's right; during times of festivals most countries will throw events around the sister-cities of the main cities to attract more locals and tourists. This is good for a few reasons.
Most of these festivals have free giveaways like food and souvenirs for you to take
You can plan your day around it! Gives you an ease off of scheduling your trip since these events usually last the entire day which leaves you free time at night to explore and have fun
